“Couldn’t we provide an opportunity to celebrate the delight of drawing pictures, to share the joy? That thought inspired the idea of drawing portraits of happy faces of people at celebrations.” (From the Celebration Party flyer)The most serious problems facing today’s society are the thiness of our connections with others and our difficulty in defining our identities. Those may have been shared concerns from which participation of laboratories from the field of education in the Triennial began. The Celebration Party activity organized by Shiga University was intended as a starting point for building some kind of connection on a person scale. Our desire to feel connectedness in the face of obstacles is captured in bodily memories that do not forget everyday activities when memories stored in the brain have faded and words are forgotten.
