The red loincloth was once a symbol of summer for boys enjoying nature. In the summer of 2006, boys with red loincloths returned to the Shibumi River in the community of Koarato. Their innocent laughter and cheers echoed over Tsumari land. The artist made the statues of boys with red loincloths along with local people, who were very enthusiastic about depicting their own boyhoods in the comical form of red loincloths. The statues were given back to their makers after the Triennial.
