About the artwork

Pottery pieces containing local clay were piled onto an 8-meter tall, 1.6-meter diameter tower made of iron. The small pottery pieces included a mix of those made by approximately 50 local villagers during a workshop as well as those created by the artist himself. Workshop participants were asked to create pieces out of their own imaginations based on the theme, “the shape of the earth.” The local villagers planted flowers near the tower turning it into a landmark connected to its surroundings.
