About the artwork

Restoration of the artwork depicting urban existence
This artwork, which conveys various facets of a contemporary city teeming with symbols through the flickering of lights and objects placed on 25 music stands, was created and initially exhibited in 1995. After its presentation at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark, it toured four Nordic countries before being showcased at the Umeda Sky Building Floating Garden Observatory in Osaka. In 2024, the piece underwent restoration following a six-month preparation period, with the collaboration of Tsubasahashi and Ogochi, who were then associated with the architectural practice.
Cooperation: Tsukihashi Osamu + Tsukihashi Laboratory, Kobe University / Okochi Manabu + Okochi Laboratory, Meiji University, Kobe Institute of Computing, Sekisui House Ltd, Hiroshi Hara + ATELIERΦ
