About the artwork

“I will make textile print work inspired by the abundant nature of Tokamachi-city. I will collect “nature in Tokamachi-city” in the form of photographs, from the past to the present including native plants and living creatures. I will combine changing appearance of nature in Tokamachi-city as time goes by such as the strange shapes of plants born out of the harsh environment caused by heavy snowfall and the nostalgic landscape of terraced rice fields and create an unrealistic alternative world with an impact that doesn’t exist in reality. I hope you will find what was featured in the artwork as you explore Tokamachi-city.” (The artist’s comment)
