Born and resides in 1968 in South Korea. Yong-duck’s artworks juxtapose two mutually contrastive elements: openness and closeness, movement and stillness, and expansion and contraction. His artworks contain two diametrically opposite attributes, sustaining tension between autonomously metamorphosing forms and completed structures. Besides the visual pleasures from accumulation and repetition, his artworks appear particularly appealing, invoking the value of sculptural works as a genre, and achieved through long and patient endeavors.
