Watanabe Yasuyuki
Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1969, Watanabe creates original “sound apparatus” made from ceramics, which allow for the enjoyment of sound through striking or touching. Through these instruments, he aims to craft works that resonate with the local environment. Notable exhibitions include Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2003 (Tokamachi, Niigata), Earth – The Power of the Land (Gunma Museum of Art, Tatebashi, 2008), Aichi Note – Earth, Landscape, Memory (Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum, 2015), Universal Museum – Touch! The Great Exposition of “Touch” (National Museum of Ethnology, 2021), and Festival of Touch – Universal Museum: Touch! The Wandering Story (Borderless Art Museum NO-MA, 2023).
Watanabe Sayo
Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1972, Sayo began collaborating with Watanabe Yasuyuki at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2003 (Tokamachi, Niigata). She proposes works that explore the concept of instability born from stability, offering experiences that embrace the unexpected.
