Born in Akita in 1994 and currently residing there, the artist graduated from the Arts and Roots Department of Akita University of Art. Acquiring a hunting license, Nagasawa has delved into the hunting and Matagi culture of Tohoku and traced the origin of life, while creating works that question the relationship between “human, living creatures, and nature.”
Recent exhibitions include the “VOCA Exhibition 2023” where Nagasawa received the VOCA Award (The Ueno Royal Museum, 2023), “Shin Japanese Painting: Revolutionary Nihonga” (Pola Museum of Art, 2023), and the solo exhibition “Embraced by the Misty Mountains” (Ani Town Hall, 2021).
