Murayama Tomoaki

Born in Kyoto in 1989, currently residing in Kanagawa. Raised in a mountain village, the artist developed an early interest in nature, pursued agriculture after graduating from an agricultural school. Later, graduated from the Sozosha College of Design and commenced activities as a painter. Explores the theme of “harmony and interaction,” the artist draws detailed group scenes of flora and fauna using monochromatic pen drawings. The artist also creates three-dimensional sculptures in a pen-drawing style as part of the “3-Draw series,” combining sculpture and flat surfaces in installations. The artist received awards such as the UNKNOWN ASIA 2019 Judge Prize and SICF21 Spiral Encouragement Award, and presented in SICF Winners Exhibitino (2021), Kudoyama Art Festival 2021, and Rokko Meets Art 2022 as well as in a solo exhibition at H.C.Andersen Park, Children’s Museum (2023).
