Born in Iran, immigrated to Australia in 1973, graduated from South Australian School of Art
in 1977 and exhibited in Australia and overseas including, Japan, Finland, UK, Dubai and Iran. Major survey of his work was held at Art Gallery of South Australia in 2001. His work is included in major public Australian art collections. Monograph of his work, Hossein Valamanesh, Out of nothingness was published in 2011. With Angela Valamanesh he has completed a number of major public art commissions commissions
including memorial to the Great Irish
Famine, 1999, Hyde Park Barracks Sydney.
