Jimmy Liao

Born in 1958 in Taipei, Taiwan. Since his first books including “Secrets in the Woods” and“A Fish that Smiled at Me” published in 1998, Liao has been the best-selling picture book author in Taiwan. He has produced poetic, attractive works applying his unique interpretation of pictures and writing style. His works have been translated into more than 20 different languages and published in the US, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Thailand etc. He has also created illustrations for British and American publishers, including Joyce Dunbar’s “The Monster Who Ate Darkness” and Jerry Spinelli’s “I Can Be Anything”. Many of his stories have been turned into music, musicals and cinematized including a film “Starry Starry Night” in 2011.
